Worship Night

I'm so excited about our first ever Worship Night this Saturday (9/24) at 8pm (Playhouse on the campus of Westminster Choir College).  Nothing stirs my heart like hearing God's children lift their voices in praise of their heavenly Father.  This is going to be a night to remember and I want to encourage you to come and bring a friend.  My good friend, Chris Richardson, is even going to sit in and play drums with us - can't wait to minister with him again!

We're asking each person who comes to contribute a dollar that will go to support the Snehashrya Woman's Shelter in India. We've raised over $11,000 for the shelter thus far and we are hopeful that this night will enable us to be of further blessing to the women and children in the shelter.

Tough Questions

This Sunday we start a new five week series called "Tough Questions" where we will be tackling some of life's most arduous questions.  This is a great series to invite a friend.  This week we take on the question of evil.  Here is a blurb about the series and the questions we attempt to answer...

Skeptic, seeker, and believer all have at least one thing in common – questions.  Not average, run of the mill questions, but really tough questions.  The type of questions mankind has been wrestling with for centuries. Tough questions like these can keep many people from believing in God.  Tough questions like these can cause a believer’s faith to waver. We can’t ignore them, or provide pat answers and hope they go away. They are legitimate questions and deserve to be explored.  Join us for this five week series as together we tackle some of life’s toughest questions.

Blown Away!!!

At the beginning of the summer I challenged our church to come up with creative ways to raise money for the benefit of Snehashrya Woman's Shelter in Northern India. We set a lofty goal for our small church - $3,500.  This may not seem like a significant amount to us in the western world, but this amount covers several months of operating expenses for the shelter.

This past Sunday we took up our offering and I was BLOWN AWAY!  The people of PBC came up big time. I couldn't be prouder of what our church did. All glory goes to God!  Do you want to know how much we raised???

Drum roll please....

$10,504 was collected in Sunday's service!!!!!  Over three times the amount we had been praying for. God is good!

Since Sunday another $250 has been pledged. We are knocking on $11K.  It's so cool to be able to bless the shelter with this amount. To God be the glory! 

Significant Offering

At the beginning of the summer I challenged our church to use the summer months to come up with creative ways to raise money for the benefit of the Snehashrya Women's Shelter in northern India. The response has been incredible! People have come up with the most inovative ways of raising money - selling off old jewerly, yard sales, cosmetic parties, baby-sitting, selling bake goods, selling old instruments, and the list goes on and on.  We set a goal of raising $3,500 and this Sunday we will take up our offering. I'm hopeful that God blows our goal out of the water!!! (Just a reminder: if you are writing a check make it out to the church and put "Snehashrya" in the memo line)

I want to invite you to join us this Sunday as we worship God with our offerings for Snehashrya. It is going to be an incredible service and time of worship.  Bring your offering and keep it with you during the service. We will take up the offering during the service, have it counted, and then celebrate God's blessing for the shelter.  I've been looking forward to this all summer!

Also, as part of the service I'd love it if some from PBC would be willing to share a brief testimony about how God worked in their life during the raising of their offering.  If you are up for it let me know or just show up on Sunday and let if fly!
